पुणे : पुण्यात कोणत्याही प्रकारची हेल्मेट सक्ती नसेल असं पुण्याचे जिल्हाधिकारी राजेश देशमुख यांनी स्पष्ट केलं आहे. सर्वसामान्यांना हेल्मेट घालणं बंधनकारक नसेल तर त्यांचं प्रबोधन केलं जाईल असं राजेश देशमुख यांनी म्हटले आहे. पहिल्या टप्प्यात शासकीय कर्मचाऱ्यांना कामावर येताना हेल्मेट वापरावे यासाठी त्यांना सुचना करण्यात आल्या असल्याचे देशमुख म्हणाले.

शासकीय कर्मचाऱ्यांचे प्रबोधन झाल्यानंतर सर्वसामान्य लोकांचे प्रबोधन केलं जाईल असं जिल्हाधिकाऱ्यांनी म्हटले आहे. जिल्हाधिकाऱ्यांकडून काल हेल्मेटच्या वापराबाबत जे आदेश काढण्यात आले होते, त्यामुळं पुण्यात सर्वसामान्यांना हेल्मेट सक्ती केल्याचा समज निर्माण झाला होता. मात्र जिल्हाधिकाऱ्यांकडून आता हेल्मेट सक्ती नसेल हे स्पष्ट केलं आहे.

 

एकीकडे राज्य मास्कमुक्त झाले आहे. पण पुणेकरांवर मात्र सक्ती करण्यात आली होती. ही सक्ती मास्क किंवा सोशल डिस्टन्सिंगची नाही, तर हेल्मेटची असण्याचा निर्णय झाला होता. पुण्यात दुचाकीवरून प्रवास करताना  1 एप्रिलपासून हेल्मेटसक्ती (Helmet Compulsion) प्रशासनाचे आदेश देण्यात आले होते. शासकीय कर्मचारी, शाळा, कॉलेज, महानगरपालिका अशा सगळ्या परिसरातल्या रस्त्यांवर हेल्मेट घालणं बंधनकारक असल्याचे प्रशासनाने सांगितले होते. शिवाय 4 वर्षांवरील सर्वांना हेल्मेट वापरणं सक्तीचं असेल. पुण्याचे जिल्हाधिकारी डॉ. राजेश देशमुख यांनी आदेश हे आदेश दिले होते. दरम्यान हेल्मेटसक्तीचं उल्लंघन केल्यास कठोर कारवाई करण्यात येईल अशी माहितीही या पत्रकात दिली होती. मात्र, पुण्यात कोणत्याही प्रकारची हेल्मेट सक्ती नसेल असं पुण्याचे जिल्हाधिकारी राजेश देशमुख यांनी स्पष्ट केलं आहे.
रस्ते अपघातात मृत्यू होणाऱ्यांमध्ये दुचाकीस्वारांचे प्रमाण अधिक आहे. त्यातही हेल्मेटअभावी डोक्याला गंभीर दुखापत होऊन दगावणाऱ्यांची संख्या अधिक आहे. कार चालकांच्या तुलनेत दुचाकी वाहन चालकाला अपघातात मृत्यू येण्याचा धोका सातपट अधिक असतो.  रस्ते अपघातात जीव गमावलेल्यांपैकी 62 टक्के व्यक्तींचा डोक्यावर इजा झाल्याने मृत्यू झाला आहे. हेल्मेटसक्तीमुळे दुचाकीचा अपघात घडल्यास जीव वाचण्याची शक्यता 80 टक्के आहे.  त्यामुळे हेल्मेट सक्तीचा निर्णय घेण्यात आला होता. मात्र, आता पुण्यात हेल्मेट सक्ती असणार नाही.
