पिंपरी चिंचवड, दि. १४ ऑगस्ट २०२२  :- भारतीय स्वातंत्र्याच्या अमृत  महोत्सवी वर्षाचे औचित्य साधून आज पिंपरी चिंचवड शहरातील सर्व क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय कार्यक्षेत्रातील  ७५ ठिकाणी सकाळी ८ ते १० या वेळेत महानगरपालिकेतर्फे प्लॉगेथॉन मोहिम राबविण्यात आली. शहर स्वच्छतेच्या चळवळीला गतीमान करण्यासाठी नागरी सहभाग  शहराच्या विकासाला नवी दिशा आणि चालना देणारा ठरेल असा विश्वास आयुक्त तथा प्रशासक राजेश पाटील यांनी यावेळी व्यक्त केला.

विकासाबरोबरच आपले शहर देशातील स्वच्छ आणि सुंदर असावे यासाठी महापालिकेने स्वछाग्रह या मोहिमेची सुरुवात केली आहे. या मोहिमेअंतर्गत महानगरपालिकेने विविध उपक्रम हाती घेतले आहेत. आज सकाळी ८ ते १० या वेळेत प्लॉगेथॉन मोहिम महानगरपालिकेतर्फे आयोजित केली होती. शहरातील ७५ ठिकाणी ही मोहिम राबविण्यात आली.  या मोहिमेमध्ये शहरातील स्वयंसेवी संस्था, ज्येष्ठ नागरिक संघ, मंडई असोसिएशन, व्हेंडर असोसिएशन, रिक्षा संघ, विविध मंडळे,  एजन्सी, गृहनिर्माण संस्था, बचत गट, खाजगी आणि  महापालिका शाळांतील विद्यार्थी, शिक्षक  व महाविद्यालयीन विद्यार्थी,  पर्यावरणप्रेमी, खाजगी संस्था, अशासकीय संस्था, सामाजिक संस्था यांच्यासह महापालिकेचे अधिकारी आणि कर्मचारी असे सुमारे  २५ हजार  व्यक्ती सहभागी झाले होते. या मोहिमेमध्ये ७१  हजार ५८०  किलो प्लॅस्टीकसह इतर कचरा संकलित करण्यात आला.  ‘मी भारताचा सुजाण नागरिक अशी शपथ घेतो कि, या देशाला आणि माझ्या शहराला स्वच्छ व सुंदर आणि प्रदूषणमुक्त करण्यासाठी मी सदैव प्रयत्नशील राहीन.  प्लास्टिकचे दुष्परिणाम पाहता मी सिंगल युज प्लास्टिकचा वापर करणार नाही. बाजारात जाताना मी कापडी पिशवी घेऊन जाईल. माझ्यामुळे प्लास्टिकचा कचरा निर्माण होणार नाही याची काळजी मी घेईन. नद्या नाले निसर्ग प्लास्टिक मुक्त करण्यासाठी मनापासून प्रयत्न करेन’ अशी शपथ घेऊन शहर स्वच्छतेचा संकल्प यावेळी करण्यात आला.

रावेत  येथील म्हस्के कॉर्नरपासून बीआरटीएस मार्गापर्यंत आयुक्त तथा प्रशासक राजेश पाटील  यांच्या उपस्थितीत मोहिमेला सुरुवात करण्यात आली.   या ठिकाणच्या मोहिमेत अतिरिक्त आयुक्त विकास ढाकणे, उल्हास जगताप, आरोग्य विभागाचे उपायुक्त अजय चारठाणकर, आरोग्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी गणेश देशपांडे, सहायक आरोग्य वैद्यकीय अधिकारी डॉ. लक्ष्मण गोफणे, ब क्षेत्रीय अधिकारी अभिजित हराळे, स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण समन्वयक विनोद जळक यांच्यासह अधिकारी कर्मचारी, विद्यार्थी आणि नागरिक सहभागी झाले होते.
थेरगावमधील जुन्या ग क्षेत्रीय कार्यालयासमोर तसेच रहाटणी येथील तांबे चौक येथे शालेय विद्यार्थ्यांनी रस्त्याच्या दुतर्फा उभे राहून हातात तिरंगा घेऊन भारत मातेचा जयघोष करत साखळी तयार केली होती. थेरगांव येथे आयुक्त राजेश पाटील, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त विकास ढाकणे, उपआयुक्त अजय चारठाणकर, सहाय्यक आयुक्त विनोद जळक, कार्यकारी अभियंता देवन्ना गट्टूवार, मुख्याध्यापक चंद्रशेखर कदम यांच्यासह विद्यार्थी व नागरिक उपस्थित होते. आयुक्त तथा प्रशासक राजेश पाटील यांनी यावेळी विद्यार्थ्यांसमवेत संवाद साधला. ते म्हणाले, शून्य कचरा संकल्पना राबविण्यासाठी  शालेय विद्यार्थ्यांची भूमिका महत्वाची आहे. आपल्या शहराला स्वच्छ आणि सुंदर बनवण्यासाठी विद्यार्थ्यांनी शालेय जीवनापासून कृतीशील राहावे. शिवाय  आपल्या शहराला अॅनिमियामुक्त करण्यासाठी सुरु असलेल्या मोहिमेमध्ये लोहयुक्त गोळ्या घेण्याचा सल्ला दिला असेल तर त्या नक्की घ्याव्यात.   देशातील सर्वोत्तम शहर म्हणून पिंपरी चिंचवडची ओळख निर्माण करण्याचा ध्यास आपण घेतला आहे. निरंतर शाश्वत विकास साधण्यासाठी लोकसहभाग आवश्यक असतो.   प्लॉगेथॉन उपक्रमाच्या माध्यमातून  आपण निर्माण केलेला कचरा आपणच स्वच्छ केल्यास शहराचे आरोग्य देखील उत्तम राहण्यास मदत होईल. यासाठी सर्वांनी योगदान द्यावे, असे आवाहन आयुक्त तथा प्रशासक राजेश पाटील यांनी यावेळी केले.
